The Design Process
Since we know that for some customers the design process isn't a familiar one, we aim to make ours as transparent as possible.
Not only does this help our customers feel more comfortable with their project and its timescales, but also assists lines of communication throughout a project cycle.
We always listen to your requirements and propose solutions that befit the style of your company. We'll help make the most of your own ideas as well as making creative, realistic suggestions drawn from our years of experience.
After all, our customers appoint us to exceed their expectations, not slavishly follow a routine!
We haven't outlined all the nitty gritty of our process here, since it varies from project to project and is tailored to your requirements, but broadly it follows this pattern.
- Brief - We evaluate your requirements from your initial contact
- Consultation - To better grasp your ideas, understand your business and meet your needs, a face-to-face meeting is sometimes advisable, but not essential.
- Proposal - We produce a detailed proposal outlining our suggestions with breakdown costs of each element involved. Occasionally this will include initial design ideas.
- Authority to Proceed - Once you've chosen the elements you wish to pursue, we present an 'ATP' document for you to sign which confirms costs and deliverables.
- Design - We begin work on creating (more) detailed designs for your project, maintaining a consistent dialogue with you to ensure that you're aware of each design iteration.
- Coding (Websites Only) - In the case of websites, after initial design we begin work on translating flat designs into actual pages that you can view online so you can get a feel for the how the design will work as a website. We then populate these pages with real content.
- Deployment - For offline design this may simply entail creating all the formats you'll need for your purposes (for example a 'print ready' logo) and for online work this may involve moving items from our production environment to it's final place 'live' on the Internet.
- Sign Off - Once all these tasks are accomplished, the project can be approved by you as complete. However, it's often the case that this is simply the beginning of a long-lasting relationship between your business and ours!
